Golf
Players at Palm Beach Polo Golf & Country Club can
enjoy 36-holes of championship golf. Two championship courses;
The Cypress Course with new Champion
Bermuda greens and the Dunes Course
with Tift Eagle Bermuda greens ensure year-round playability.
The Cypress Course
Initially built for the Chrylser Team Championship PGA Tour Event,
the course was opened in 1989, and is played around the Big Blue
Preserve at Palm Beach Polo. The back nine of this hidden gem
are tailored for T.V. Golf and the last four challenging holes
feature stadium greens.
This fast and demanding masterpiece was designed by the partnership
of Pete Dye and his son, P.B., and has long been hailed as one
of the best Pete Dye designs. Pete was inducted into the World
Golf Hall of Fame in 2009 and P.B. is a long time resident of
Palm Beach Polo Golf & Country Club.
During construction, some 50,000 cubic yards of earth were moved
and landforms were used in equal parts to assist and challenge
the golfer. With vast expanses of sand, finger bunkers, and undulating
greens surrounded by water, this course is sure to leave you visually
stimulated on each and every shot. It was designed to create many
changes in elevations and vistas.
Crowned greens and carefully placed bunkers in the strategic
layout test both the long and short game. There are dips and swales,
collection areas around the greens, some of them sloping with
false fronts. These features combine to provide a course that
is both challenging and enjoyable, with 18-holes that will not
disappoint – “the way golf was meant to be played”.

The Signature
Hole #17
A straight, long Par 5 (641 Yard) with water down the entire
left side of the generous fairway leading to the green. There
are bunkers down the right side of the fairway that come into
play on the second shot. The green is guarded with multiple bunkers
and water. This is where the fun begins and severe slopes demand
the correct pace on your putts. An easterly wind can add 20-40
yards. Good luck!
The Dunes Course
This Scottish links style course plays fast and firm with elevated
greens and the emphasis on your second shot. You will need all
of your shots and most important of all, your imagination!
Designed in 1984 by world-renowned golf course architect, Ron
Garl, and 1976 U.S. Open Champion, Jerry Pate, it features six
sets of tees. At the time the design was innovative and unique.
Players will be challenged by strategically placed bunkers and
natural mounding and can relish the opportunity of saving par
from 10-foot deep bunkers!
There are large open spaces, as well as woodland areas, that present
a unique set of hazards including well-mounded greens with harsh
bunkers. The mix of long and short holes has enough water to challenge
a wayward shot. Many natural features enhance the course with
its Paspalum tees.

Signature Hole #8
A Par 3 hole plays into the prevailing wind with elevated tee
to a green guarded by bunkers to the left and the entire front,
with the right side of the green being surrounded by water.
